Minita Shrestha, PhD
Dr. Minita Shrestha serves as Principal Scientist and Lab Head at Unique Biosciences™. She is a molecular biologist specializing in microbiology, environmental science, and diagnostics tests, with over 15 years of experience spanning both academia and industry.
Dr. Shrestha earned her PhD in Molecular Ecology from Philipps University/Max Planck Institute in Marburg, Germany, and has made significant contributions to microbial ecology and molecular biology through postdoctoral research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Before joining Unique Biosciences, Dr. Shrestha served as Principal Scientist at Direct Diagnostics/Paratus Diagnostics, where she led clinical R&D projects, developed molecular diagnostic tests, and managed CLIA/CAP-certified laboratories. Dr. Shrestha has authored 10 peer-reviewed publications and has presented her work at numerous international conferences.
Besides microbiome experiments in the lab, Dr. Shrestha also has a passion to try new recipes in the kitchen. Better to say, she is a fantastic cook, baker, and food-lover. Her other secret to happiness is being close to nature. She loves gardening, hiking, and exploring the World.
